Dive into the mesmerizing world of Paradox Museum, where stunning illusions and mind-bending installations redefine perception.
Description
Located at 38 Boulevard des Italiens in Paris’s 9th arrondissement, Paradox Museum spans 1,700 m² across three floors of interactive optical illusions and sensory paradoxes Pelago. With over 90 installations, guests can drift in the Zero Gravity Room, get upside-down in the Reverse Room, or have their bodies fragmented on the Paradox Sofa, plus navigate a spinning tunnel that throws off your sense of balance. Every exhibit is designed for jaw-dropping photos and mind-boggling experiences.
Since opening in Paris, it quickly became one of the city's most “Instagrammable” destinations, earning praise from Elle, Le Parisien, and Télérama for blending fun, art, and science. In 2025, five new immersive experiences were added alongside the Hans & Gretel café offering bubble waffles, chimney cakes, ice creams, and candies, extending the sensory delight.
The atmosphere is playful, modern, and welcoming for all ages (free for under‑4s, little ones aged 4+ loved it). Multilingual staff guide guests through installations, help with photos, and explain the science behind the illusions. The museum is accessible by metro (lines 3, 7, 8, 9, RER A/E), bus, and has paid parking nearby at Parking Meyerbeer Opera CulturAdvisor.
Fun facts: strobe‐light zoetropes include warning signs, and the venue features air‐conditioning, lockers, restrooms, benches, with an average visit time of 80–90 minutes. Family and group tickets are available, and last entry is two hours before closing (6 p.m. weekdays, 7 p.m. weekends).
