This 750 m² museum, opened in 2010 by the Van Belle family (after Bruges and Prague), unfolds across three themes. First, the origins of cocoa in Mesoamerica: Aztec tools, ritual bowls, myths like Quetzalcoatl are showcased through authentic artifacts or replicas. Then, cocoa’s European conquest: chocolate beverages in royal salons, machinery, industrial-era posters. Finally, the modern era featuring monumental chocolate sculptures (up to 3 m tall), celebrity “Wall of Fame”, and a boutique-café.

The museum offers live chocolatier demonstrations (including MOF chefs) via the standard ticket: unlimited tastings of over ten chocolate varieties, a children’s game booklet, and virtual demo. The visit+workshop option (ages 7+) includes a 45-minute dipping workshop where you craft and take home 250‑300 g of chocolate.
